Naftali Kalfa

Naftali Kalfa is a singer, songwriter and composer who turns lived experience into honest, soulful music. Born in Toronto and the eldest of eleven children, he grew up surrounded by music and credits his love of it to his mother, a gifted singer and musician. From a young age he sang and led prayers in synagogues, choirs and at events.

With no formal training, Naftali found his way alongside the late guitarist Yosi Piamenta, who deeply shaped his sound. He taught himself to play and compose, and started writing his own melodies. Over the years he released four Hebrew albums built on verses from the Bible and Jewish prayer, followed by an original, personal English album. His collaborations include Shlomo Katz, Gad Elbaz and the Piamenta brothers.

His music is raw, real and vulnerable, written for every person dealing with life rather than any single audience. Open about his own journey and recovery, Naftali uses music as a message of hope, honesty and human connection.
